Obituary of E. Jean Visser

E. Jean Visser June 4, 1938 January 7, 2009 E. Jean (Sledge) Visser, 70, of Crescent Lane, passed away at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in South Bend, Indiana on Wednesday, January 7, 2009. Jean was born on June 4, 1938 to the late Julius & Thelma (Curtis) Evans in Gary, Indiana and raised by Louis and Thelma (Curtis) Sledge. After graduating from high school Jean worked toward her college degree. She graduated with a Bachelor's Degree and worked as a Speech and Hearing Therapist as well as her Masters Degree from Western Michigan University. On February 19, 1965 Jean wed the love of her life, Pieter Visser at a beautiful ceremony in Hasselt, Belgium. She is preceded in death by her parents and husband. Jean is survived by her brother Robert (Anette) Evans of Detroit, several Aunts, Nieces, Nephews, cousins and best friend Martha Jones of South Bend. A special thanks goes out to her friend Edward "Skip" Virgil and Mary Ellingson for all her trips to the doctor and her treatments A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2009 at Mission Hills Memorial Chapel at Noon.
