I am expressing my sympathy to Kathleen and Christine on the loss of their Father. I was the Postmaster in Union Pier and knew your Dad for several years. He was a wonderful man. I always enjoyed talking to him and he was a warm and kind man. We shared news about our families and he was so proud of you both and his grandsons. He brought your Mom to the Post Office to see a project my son had made depicting a Southern Plantation.I know he took such good care of her until her death. He helped me a lot with computer information. He was the kind of Dad that everyone would love to have. I moved on to a new Post Office, and he was one of my favorite customers that I really missed. I know he loved serving in his church and was a deeply religous person. I am sure he is with God and back with your Mother. We are all better people for having known him. I lost my father-in-law this past July so I can sympathise with your loss, but also your confidence that he no longer suffers or is lonely. Best wishes to you both. Kathleen Kulis

Chuck was a valued member of St. Luke's Lutheran church in Stevensville, MI. I had the honor of serving with him on various committees. I always respected his wisdom and insight into various church problems.
He was very proud of his daughters and grandsons and worked hard to be a role model for them. I will miss him.

Will miss him = When he lived next door to St. Luke's in Stevensville, he would stop in the church office frequently. Everytime I would see him I would ask how he was doing, his reply would be "Pretty darn good for an old geezer".
Proudly serving the community of Niles and surrounding areas.
