In 1974, my parents met Hilda at St. Joseph Hospital in South Bend on the cardiac floor. I believe that her brother and my father shared the same hospital room. Throughout the years, my parents and eventually just my Mom exchanged Christmas cards always filled with all the year's news. When my Mom passed away in 2007, Hilda sent a very heartfelt and poignant letter to my family that was greatly appreciated. She was a very nice and classy lady. May God grant her eternal rest.

I have known Hilda since I was 2, she worked with my mom at J C Penney for many years and they became really great friends. After they no longer worked together, they kept in touch through occasional phone calls and every year they sent Christmas cards to each other, even this past year they sent each other one. Hilda was a very nice lady and she will be greatly missed! Thank you Hilda for being my mom's friend!! Leah Frazier

Hilda has been my dear friend since 1978. We spent many a day shopping or just talking having tea or going to lunch. She never forgot any of her friends even those of us who are afar off. I will miss her greatly.

We were Hilda's neighbors for 7 years. We moved a few years ago. She made blankets for my children and they loved to say hi to her. She was a wonderful person and she will be missed.

As a high school student, I worked with Hilda at the old W.T. Grant store at Eastgate Shopping Center back in the late 60's and early 70's. I ran into Hilda not long ago and was pleased that she still remembered me! She was a lovely lady with a kind heart and sweet spirit. Rest in peace, Hilda.

Bill and Hilda were cousins.Hilda's mother (Mary Jane)and Bill's dad (Robert) were brother and sister. Our phone chats were filled with family news and laughter, and lasted at least an hour. Will miss you Hilda.
