So glad that he was able to spend some time at the reunion a little over a month ago - enjoying himself and telling jokes. Sorry I cannot be there tonight and tomorrow, but my thoughts are with you all. May all the great memories keep him close in your hearts.

To the family of JB.
I am sorry to hear of JB's passing. I was hoping to pay my respects with the visitation and the funeral however I can't. So I thought I would share with you what I would have said to you in person.
I admired JB. He was on the Niles Council during the time I was on the Board of Niles Township. Between Dick Asmus, Marjorie Bachman, myself and JB we would have settled any strife and disagreements that existed between the City and the Township.
I remember JB monitoring the steamer full of corn on the cob at each Elks golf league cookout.
I remember JB and Virginia cooking at the annual JB/Virginia's spaghetti dinners at the Niles Elks. The spaghetti had to be just right before we would serve it.
Way back, the City Council/Staff and the Township Board/Staff had a golf outing at Plym Park. One of the daughters made a Snoopy cutout that was to be awarded to the winning team. Afterwards Virginia and JB invited Jim Sullivan and myself to their home for some home made wine and a spaghetti dinner. Needless to say, it was outstanding. HOWEVER, JB wanted me to try some of their home grown peppers. What he didn't tell me was how to eat them. I took a great big bite and almost burnt up. All I wanted was water but Virginia said 'no, eat this bread'. I haven't forgot that.
There are many, many more memories of JB that I will cherish. As you can see, these memories are fun things we did. JB was that kind of guy.
I will say a prayer asking God to keep JB under his wings.

Bye Bye Uncle Johnny!! You were so special in our lives - Groomsman at our Wedding Fifty Five years Ago!! While staying at G & G Frucci's - I do remember you making me and Mary Lou - sit at the table till we ate the canned peas on our plate -YUCK!! You weren't aware - but sometimes Grandma would slip them away!! Guess we forgave you - as we would later babysit YOUR children! Our fondest thoughts go out to you and Aunt Virginia. Anita (Frucci) & Peter Rodgers
