Please share a memory of Ed to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Ed Jackson, 65, of Buchanan, passed away suddenly, but of natural circumstances, at his residence, on Thursday, September 9, 2010. He was born on October 26, 1944 in Birmingham, Alabama to the late Ben and Lilly Bell Jackson. On February 17, 1978 Ed married Karen Shandor at a ceremony in Homewood, Illinois. Ed worked as a regional director of Sales for Marshalls Department Stores for many years. In 1994 Ed went to work at Walmart, where he was a district manager until his retirement in 2006. In the early years Ed and Karen enjoyed traveling the country and occasional casino trips. Both were involved in animal welfare. Ed was a faithful and devoted member of the Buchanan Seventh-Day Adventist Church and was very active for many years in different capacities. Ed's devotion and faith were not only to the church but evident in his daily life and his relationship with God. Ed was an incredible, loving and self-sacrificing husband and will be eternally missed. He is preceded in death by his parents, his mother-in law Christine Shandor, three brothers and two sisters. Ed is survived by his wife Karen Jackson of Buchanan, two sisters Virginia and Geraldine and nieces and nephews.
