I never met Charlatine in person but I always enjoyed her comments on Facebook. Her humor and Christian witness will always be remembered and treasured. May the Lord Jesus Christ be with the family in this time of loss as she enters her eternal reward.

Aunt Tina, You have impacted many lives along your way in this world. You left lasting impressions with your kind caring heart. A person who never ask for much in this world but was always willing to help someone else. You lite smiles on many children's faces as you passed through this world. Raised children of your own as a single mother and welcomed your grandchildren as they entered this world. Each and every one was special to you, I can still hear the excitement in your voice as you talked about them on the phone that day.
You always treated my 3 children as they were your own and was always willing to let them spend the nite if they ask. I can't ever remember you telling them no. I am glad we spent the time together over the years so our kids could know some of there cousins. I am glad I got to spend time with my Aunt, talking, laughing and playing scrabble until 1:00 in the morning and later. Those were good times. Thats what I will remember, Love and miss you, R.I.P. my dear Aunt

I will always remember the sense of excitement I had while spending time with Aunt Tina during our summer trips to Michigan. It seemed like time with her was always an adventure, going from one place to another, always seeing something new. There was no hum-drum when living life with Aunt Tina.
Very few can ever match her keen mind, her enthusiasm, her curious and investigative nature or her engagement with the world around her. She was a huge part of my Michigan experience and those times are times that I treasure so very much. The summers of my youth did not begin until I saw Aunt Tina and my cousins. Each trip to the lake these past few years has felt a little hollow -- like I'm still waiting for her to drive up and take us on jaunts around Baldwin and the surrounding areas, or to bring a car full of cousins to swim and walk with. Thanks for all of the memories, Aunt Tina. You are loved by many and will live forever in our hearts and memories.

Mom -
I could type a thousand words and still not be able to tell you all the ways I love you. I miss you so much and wish we could share one more hug, one more smile, one more I love you. But then I'd want two and three.. I'd never let go.
Everything is different now but the love of our family will always remain.. you taught us to hold onto each other and help each other thru the hurt, and that's what we'll do.
I miss you..

I remember staying with Aunt Tina when Chad was born and being so blessed to watch Kristen and Shanna. They were so cute. Little did I know, I would be still be doing childcare in some semblance to this day. Aunt Tina took me shopping and brought me school clothes that year. She was so sweet and thoughtful. She also came to see my daughter Emily play violin at her highschool. She always had so much good to say about her kids, their capabilities, and work ethic, granchildren. Her wit, and caring will always be remebered. I will miss her.

Legacy - leaving a bequest or a gift to someone that will make their life better. When I reflect on the life of Charlatine Duffing - I am amazed by the legacy she has left. She was blessed with so very many gifts from god - a brilliant mind, charm and charisma, a fantastic sense of humor, empathy, kindness and love for others, and last but not least the gift of gab. (Which she shared with my mom on many occasions!)
She left the world her legacy through her children, and grandchildren, they inherited all of her gifts, and are a living testament to their loving mother. I had the privilege of meeting her grandson - Zachary -and immediately felt like i had known him forever. He like his mother share her intelligence and charm. All of her children are such wonderful people - so friendly, loving and considerate. Though years may pass between visits, they make you feel like they just were with you yesterday, and you a dear friend. I know they inherited this from their mom.
My dad - her oldest brother always had a very special place for her in his heart. I can remember sitting in the back seat of a car stuffed to the roof with all us kids, while my Aunt would catch him up on all the friends, and relatives, and the going ons in Baldwin. My dad is a pretty serious character, but when he would get together with my Aunt Tina or his other siblings I got to see a softer, younger, more carefree version of him. They would look at each other with the same glint, in their identical blue eyes. He misses her terribly.
She will be missed profoundly here on this planet, but I know that there is a party going on - "lets get this party started" I can hear her say, as she is held in the loving embrace of her parents, siblings, friends, and grandparents. I like to think that my sweet nephew Jonathan and a favorite of Aunt Tina - took her hand and led her through the golden gates, and said come on Aunt Tina we have work to do. The work I do believe that she will do - be here in spirit watching, and guiding her family and friends, until that day, that we see her smiling face again and she says come on, time to go.
So again I will go back to the word legacy - too small of a definition to express all that she accomplished and has left here to all of us. Her greatest pride, joy, and love were her children, my cousins - Kristin, Shanna, Chad, Brandon , Pam, and Harold, and maybe even more so her grandkids. You each are her legacy.
My love and pray to each of you.
Joanne Duffing

NnWhen Jonathan was around 11 yrs old he spent the summer with aunt Tina and her family. Not only did he have a great time, but I recieved the cutest letter from him. I am sure this was written per aunt Tinas instructions. She did not know that she gave me one of my most treasured possessions, my sons words. I take this letter out and read it when i am missing jon most. What a wonderful gift she gave me. There are many more things i could say about my aunt, but this is my fondest memory of her. I'll love her forever and greatly miss her.
