Nancy has been an important person in my life for nearly forty years as a special friend, mentor and principal. She encouraged excellence in education and in our shared passion for quilting. The remembered laughter, hugs and even tears will echo in my mind for years to come.
She and Earl were honored guests in my home as I have been in their home. It seems impossible that she is no longer an email or phone call away. This world is a less wonderful place without Nancy.

Nancy was an active member of Delta Kappa Gamma.
She join the organization in 1980.
Nancy has a degree from the University of Wisconsin-
in River Falls. the same school where her maternal
grand mother, received her degree.
Nancy had many hobbies. But, the main one was quilting. She gave the personal touch to everything she did.; The smiles, the energy, the zest, the compassion, the motivation, the encouragement that inspired so many. She was a woman in "MOTION" who achieved so much in her life.
We will miss you Nancy!

Nancy Nimtz was one of those people you wanted to be around. Her confidence, resolve, concern and positive outlook was calming. Whether Nancy was putting together information about education, planning a "Teacher Helping Teachers" event or giving quilting advice, one knew they were in good hands. The gift of your artistic, fine quilts had me in awe. We will miss not being able to pick up the phone and hear her wonderful voice on the other end. Nancy, you are a joy and a blessing. May the angels lead you into Paradise but you probably know the way.

I knew Nancy as a fellow member of several organizations. Delta Kappa Gamma was an educator group in our area. Nancy’s creativity was soon evident in our various projects. We could count on Nancy for distinguished invitations, table settings and handmade souvenirs.
Nancy was also a motivational speaker. She could inspire others to complete difficult tasks. Her humor at these times was greatly appreciated.
Nancy was currently a member of Teachers Helping Teachers. She continued her interest in our local schools and teachers
She will be sorely missed at our luncheons. Nancy’s bright smile was welcoming to all. We will miss you ,Nancy.

Nancy, Nancy, Nancy… I just can’t except this.. our family never expressed or showed how much we loved each other but I really loved you, respected you and was so proud of you! I never really let you know that so if your looking down at me at anytime please know that.
I was so lucky to have you as a big sister, you welcomed my friends into your house so many times! Loved my kids! And even enjoyed the crazy friends. I was so happy to have all my quilting friend meet you and really enjoyed our trips to Madison to the quilt shows and had so much fun doing show-n-tell after shopping every year. We weren’t very close growing up but I know we became closer as we got older. Thank you for sharing all your talents with me, and teaching me so much! We had a lot of sad and happy times together and I will really miss that. I love you Nancy and I know we will see each other again❤️❤️❤️❤️

When I think of Nancy, I think of a woman who was passionate about everything she did. As Curriculum Director of Niles Community Schools, she was my boss and my friend. Nancy loved children. She firmly believed that a quality education and a strong curriculum could only be achieved if the teachers who worked directly with the children were involved. Therefore, the teachers always worked with us to develop the curriculum and to select the materials that would help them deliver the curriculum. So many great programs were developed under her leadership. She also recognized the need to continually educate the teachers in varying instructional approaches to match the learning styles of students, differentiating instruction, and consistently scaling up implementation of best-practice instructional strategies and approaches in all classrooms and across all content areas. There is no doubt she was an exceptional leader, and I am grateful that I could be a part of these important achievements.
Nancy belonged to DKG, an honor society of women educators. All of us in this organization had such fun working on projects to raise money for classroom teachers. I can still hear her laugh, as we worked our way through a project. Her beautiful quilting projects always received high bids. All of us in this group enjoyed Nancy’s friendship and love…wonderful dinners together and great conversations. We could always turn to her for advice.
When our youngest child was sick with a rare neurological disorder, Nancy and Earl came to our rescue. They would lovingly have our daughter over their house to entertain her and give us a break from the stress. My husband and I will never forget that kindness and our daughter adored Nancy and Earl.
I will miss Nancy, but she will always be in my heart with very fond memories.

Nancy was a great friend! We would talk about everything. Her insight was always helpful.
Nancy loved quilting and was skilled in various crafts. I also love crafts so Nancy would call me to come and help her with various projects. One year, we spent many hours decorating pins with cute beads for the pincushions she sold. This year, I helped her decorate Christmas cookies. She baked and baked!! I decorated. I helped with her Christmas wreaths for the church windows and with her Easter baskets which she made for her friends. When we finished a project, we would usually stop to eat and frequently watch a movie.
Nancy loved to go to the Casino. The last activity I shared with Nancy was going to the Casino and having lunch.
I loved helping Nancy, and she was always there for me when I needed her.
Nancy was little bit of everything: a wife, a mother, a great friend and a Christian.

Nancy was a member of our local PI Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma International. Delta Kappa Gamma International is a society which promotes professional and personal growth of women educators around the world.
Nancy joined PI Chapter in 1980. In 1984 and in 1990, she accepted the two year position of being Chapter president. In 1987, Nancy was voted PI Chapter Woman of Distinction. She was a member of DKG for 38 years. In 2019, our group left DKG and became a local group of Teachers Helping Teachers or THT.
I worked with Nancy in DKG and THT. Nancy was a very busy person with a great deal of responsibility in many areas. She always had the ability to look at a problem, evaluate it, and give very clear constructive suggestions on how to solve the issue. Nancy was the person I turned to when I had a question or problem which needed solving.
Nancy loved quilting. I have several items which Nancy made that I cherish. These items will forever remind me of Nancy.
An excellent educator, a very caring person, and always willing to help, that's Nancy. She will always have a special place in my heart.

Nancy was quick to laugh at any story. I will miss her ability to listen to others and put in her two cents worth. What a gifted and talented lady. God gave her to us when we needed her. God is with you!
