Obituary of Edward Alcala
Eduardo "Ed" Alcala, 72 of Niles, passed away on November 23,2022.
Ed was born on June 4, 1950, in Eagle Pass, Texas to the late Cošme Salazar Alcala and Catalina Garcia Alcala.
Ed was a graduate of River Valley High School. He was also a U.S. Navy veteran who proudly served his country from 1970-1974, and was stationed on the USS Coral Sea. He worked at Ameriwood Industries Inc., and was an event DJ. He had a love for music and singing karaoke. Ed was an avid hunter, fishermen, and collector of many things. He regularly attended Summit Church, and helped coach Upward Soccer. He loved watching U of M, and hanging out with his family and friends.
Ed is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Rogelio Alcala; and love of is life Patti Russell-Alcala.
He is survived by his children, Alison (Shawn) Stevens, Shane (Kathie) Alcala, Rosa Lee Alcala, Virginia (Tim) Alcala, and Eduardo (Heaven) Alcala; grandchildren, Donte, Tayton, Taylor, Kylie, Alyssa, Peyton, Paisley, Christopher, Jesse, Ashley, Taisha, Michael, Hazellynn, MaryJane, Delilah, Abigail, and RaeLynn; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Oralia Mitchell, Susan (Stanley) Payne, Toni, Nettie, Mia; brother, Frank Alcala; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Family and friends are invited to express their condolences and share memories at Ed’s Celebration of Life at Niles FOP located at 531 North State Street, from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 10, 2022.
