The memory that stands out in my mind is.... when I found out through Ancestry.com that Ed was my half brother I let him know. I told him I had an extra Ancestry.com kit I could bring over for him to use. He said no, that's not necessary, I believe you. What he did say he wanted to do was meet me. Ever since that meeting we kept in contact quite a bit. Mostly through e-mails. Our time was to short...but he gave me something I'll never forget, himself.

TO the family of Uncle Eddie , I send my thoughts and prayers with good memories of his life to help you through his untimely death . I will always remember him for generally helping his siblings in projects they needed help with willingly . He was set in his ways somewhat, but aren't we all especially as we get older. I smile when I think of him always saying he was a meat and potatoes man and really disliked casseroles and leftovers but I will ask Aunt Patty if in recent years of the Covid virus and Shrinkflation if he ever changed his mind on that topic ? I have been unofficially called the 'Family Historian ' for years and have posted his legacy of a lengthy family history right down to his children and grandchildren on ancestry.com for many years now complete with old photos , documents and such .So I know they will be able to learn ' Where They Came From ' . I still work on the 1995 copyrighted " Threads of Ottumwa ,Iowa " family tree ( Heston / Black, Bice , Glentzer , Feehan and many related sub files ), on ancestry.com and all the interrelated 12 or so family trees . I know his respectful sons will take care of their mother in some fashion . I may see some of you for a fleeting minute or two the next couple days at his funeral services . Since my divorce from his brother , Michael, some of us still keep in touch and I have fond memories of the family reunions in Iowa and Indiana we all attended for many years . Keep those fond memories at the forefront and they will help see you through this difficult time . There are so many memories to share about the past 57 years as Eddie’s sister-in-law.
My favorite times were the Christmas days we spent at their home with the rest of the family. Those were the very best of times.
During those years we shared both tears and laughter. We lost loved ones and welcomed new family members through marriages and births. I hope the many fond memories will be of comfort to us all.
