I HAVE SUCH GREAT MEMORIES OF BEING WITH FRED ON THE RACING CIRCUIT NEVER KNOWING WHERE WE WOULD SPENT THE NIGHT ON THE WAY HOME, SOMETIMES SLEEPING IN THE TRUCK! SOMETIMES I HAD TO DRIVE US HOME BECAUSE FRED COULD NOT STAY AWAKE TO DO IT! IT WAS A BIG THRILL WHEN HE RACED AT MICHIGAN INTERNATIONAL RACEWAY AND THEY INTERVIEWED HIM ON NATIONAL T V. THE CROWD STOOD UP AND CHEERED HIM ON SAYING "GO FREDDIE GO!!
IT WAS AN HONOR TO BE A PART OF HIS PIT CREW. FRED WAS LIKE A BROTHER TO ME. I SPENT MANY HOURS IN THE EVENINGS WORKING ON THE RACE CARS AND GETTING HOME TOO LATE FOR SUPPER.
I WILL MISS YOU FREDDIE FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE UNTIL I MEET YOU UP THERE AND WE RACE AROUND HEAVEN!

WHENEVER MY HUSBAND LARRY AND I WERE EATING AT THE PLAZA RESTAURANT IN NILES, I WOULD HEAR THAT LAUGH AND TURN AROUND TO SEE FRED REED IN THE ROOM. IT WAS A JOY TO HEAR. HE FIXED MY CAR MANY TIMES AND I WILL MISS HIM A LOT. I REMEMBER SEEING HIM RACE AT SOUTH BEND MOTOR SPEEDWAY WHEN I WENT THERE WITH MY UNCLE NORM MCCLLEN WHEN I WAS 16 YEARS OLD, GOOD MEMORIES! TAKE CARE SHERRY, WE LOVE YOU AND YOUR FAMILY.

I remember going to R&H with my dad (Steve Zimmerman) as a little kid to see fred and kenny's race cars from time to time. Fred would always let me sneak a candy bar while my dad talked. Growing up I still remember watching fred at the races, and I will always remember his laugh you will be missed Fred.

I was so sorry to hear of your passing Uncle Freddie and family. I remember seeing you with Aunt Sherry at Grandpa & Grandma’s house before you were even married. You were so young and both of you were so full of life. I was only about 10 at the time. I always tried to stop by your shop after I moved to TX to see you and it was always a pleasure seeing you. And then your racing was so great, you had a room full of trophy’s. Your a true racer as your name stands, “Fast Freddie”!! I’m sure your up there in heaven racing the shit out of Dale Earnhardt!! Will miss you always Uncle Freddie!! Love your niece, Debbie
