Obituary of Gilbert Edward Redzinski

Gilbert E. Redzinski, 89, passed away on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at Woodland Terrace in Niles.

 

He was born on October 27, 1928 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to the late Stanley and Clara (Tuscavitz) Redzinski.

 

Gil wed Donna Lee Gaulitz at a ceremony in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and together they had four children; later in life they parted ways. He married Ruth Orlowski in 1986. Gil enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served his country proudly for over 40 years, including WWII, both active and reserve service. An Electrical Engineer, Gil worked for General Electric in Milwaukee, then Clark Equipment in Cassopolis and retired from Bendix in South Bend.

 

He enjoyed traveling, splitting his time between his homes in Milwaukee, Texas and Rose, Wisconsin. Gil was a Master Gardner, enjoyed scuba diving, square dancing, flying planes and was an avid walker. He had a great sense of humor, loved telling jokes and found time spent with family to be what he cherished the most.

 

Gilbert was preceded in death by his parents; his former wife, Donna Redzinski in 2014; his wife, Ruth Redzinski in 2007; all of his siblings.

 

He is survived by his children, Gilbert “Butch” (Patricia Kuharevicz) Redzinski Jr. of Sand Lake, Michigan, Thomas (Kimberly Bane) Redzinski of South Bend, Patricia Huttenstine of Niles and Pamela (James Pastryk) Aviles of Niles; grandchildren, Joe Blackmer of Muskegon, Kevin (Melissa) Blackmer of Muskegon, Miranda Redzinski of Edmore, Michigan, Tommy Redzinski of Edmore, Colin Redzinski of Edmore, Kristin (John) Campbell of Niles, Harley (Beka Taylor) Groves of Sturgis, Jared Huttenstine of Niles, Brein (Tom) Dyer of Niles and Brandon (Laurie) Percy of Niles; great-grandchildren, Jorja, Boden, Avree, Violet, Lanie, Les, Harmony, Sage, Zarrah and Teo.

 

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 3, 2018 at 12:00p.m., at Brown Funeral Home, with a time of visitation one hour prior. Committal Rites will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Buchanan and will conclude with Full Military Honors by the United States Air Force and American Legion Post 51.
