Obituary of Connie Jean Gordon

Connie J. (Carpenter) Gordon, 53, of Niles, passed away on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Mishawaka, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Connie was born on March 9, 1965 to Robert and Carolyn (Stark) Carpenter in Grand Rapids, Michigan.  Connie married David Gordon on September 20, 1986 at a ceremony held in Niles. She has been an administrative assistant at Notre Dame for the IU School of Medicine for nearly thirty years.

She enjoyed being active in the great outdoors, from camping and boating to snowmobiling and riding motorcycles. She loved taking vacations with her family, reading and traveling. Connie was known as a trivia guru and enjoyed time with her family and friends.

 Connie was preceded in death by her mother, Carolyn Carpenter.

 She is survived by her husband, David A. Gordon of Niles; daughters, Carly Gordon of Byron Center, Michigan and Taylor Gordon of Niles; father, Robert Carpenter of Wetmore, Michigan; brother, Christopher Carpenter of Gowen, Michigan; sister, Sally Ann O’Donnel of Casnovia, Michigan; along with a host of nieces, nephews and countless lives she has touched.

A time of visitation will be on Friday, March 30, 2018 from 3:00pm to 6:00pm at Brown Funeral Home, in Niles with funeral services at 6:00pm.
