I'm so sorry to hear of his passing. I just found out. My thoughts and prayers to the whole family. I have known Bruce for quite a while. Him and I coached football together way back. This news came as a deep shock, last time I seen him was in the gym we use to workout together. Very sad. But I know he is singing with the angels now. He is a very wonderful friend who will be missed very much.

In 1989 little did I know who would cross my path.Little did I know that a bond would be built between me and a man who wasn't my biological father. For I cannot recollect the time we first met but according to my mother it was when her and this great man where dating and after a date of some sort he begged my mother to wake me, her 2 yr old son up to meet me and there our eyes met for the first time. This great man went on to marry my mother and take on me, Kiera and kendra my 2 sisters and become a awsome.father to us kids.We lived in a house on Detroit st in buchanan MI and there we had some great memories as a family.Bruce taught me baseball in the backyard along with football and as I grew Older I learned thee importance of being a "Michigan Man" a wolverine. And to this day I'm a wolverine and all because of him.I remember the day like yesterday when my mother telling me at the age of 8 that her and bruce where no longer going to be with each other and we would be moving away I remember crying and getting the feeling of losing a dad and most importantly my best friend.i remember asking him if I could stay and live with him.and he replied laughing "Your mother would never let that happen." But then kneeling down and saying "All you got to do is call me Buddy and I will come pick you up."he wasn't lying either.everytime I called him he would always be minutes away. Our relationship never stopped even tho he and my mother's marriage did.in fact he has been there in all aspects of me and my sisters lives. He was there for my 16th birthday waiting for me to get off work to give me a authentic mid 1800 muzzle loader.with a smile on his face congratulating me on hitting the big 16.He was there for all our graduations and he was there for my wedding and pulled me aside and said "Son a man isn't a man if he can't defend his family and gave me a 9mm keltic rifle.I could go on and on of great stories about this great man for days.but I wanted to pay tribute to one of the greatest men I've ever known.
He has shown me and taught me so much.
He taught me how to Love
How to forgive
How to be strong Trust in God even when it seems he isn't listening .
To be a provider for your family
And a protector of your family.
Bruce Anderson has gone on to be with the Lord and now all we have are distant memories of him.
A hero in my life gone to soon.
No more is he a phone call away
No.more talks about michigan football after every game.
But his spirit will live in all of us that where close to him.especially me.
Rest in peace DAD
Rest in peace.Bruce Anderson

So many memories flood my mind. Dressing up the kids for trick or treating ,you putting shoe polish on kurts face to make a beard( you improvised) lol
Kids and I laughing when your feet found the boys Army men. All the laughing we did at the funny things the kids did or said. Or the fun times spent with your mom and aunt. The funny times hauling our Family Bunch to the movies or trips to Detroit or going to church, in that small car. You were always proud of your family and loved your children, more than life itself. I remember not to long ago; how your eyes lit up talking about grandchildren. We shared stories and realized through it all; we still remained friends and wanted the best for all of our children.

Fond childhood memories attending church together, fellowshipping in each other's homes after Sunday evening services, and camping and water skiing at Interlochen
"But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from the wrath of God through Him.
For if by the transgression of the one, death reigned through the one, much more those who receive the abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ." Romans? ?5:8-9, 17? ?NASB??
