Obituary of Deadria L. Murray

Deadria L. Murray, 49, of Dowagiac passed away on Saturday, October 28, 2017, at Borgess Lee Memorial Hospital in Dowagiac. She was born on August 14, 1968 in Dowagiac, Michigan to the late Ewells and Doris (Gordan) Hollingsworth. Deadria graduated 1986 from Dowagiac Union High School, she went on to obtain her BA in early childhood development from Bethel College in South Bend, Indiana. On July 1, 1995 Deadria married the love of her life Durrell S. Murray Sr. She was very proud to be working as a child advocate; she felt that was her God calling. Deadria believed in doing good for other's and living a Christian life. She loved her family and friends with all of her heart. Deadria never went anywhere without looking her best, her hair and nails always done to perfection. Her contagious laugh will be missed by many. She is preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Jackie Hawthorne and Chiquita Hollingsworth and her brother, Tracy Hollingsworth. Deadria is survived by her husband, Durrell S. Murray of Dowagiac; sons, Durrell "Stevie" Murray Jr. of Dowagiac and Brendon P. Murray of Big Rapids; brothers, Don (Sandra) Hollingsworth of South Bend; Kenneth (Dianne) Hollingsworth of Cedar Hill, TX and Brian Hollingsworth of Dowagiac; a sister, Cynthia Hollingsworth of Dowagiac. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at 1:00 pm at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, 601 Ferry St, Niles MI with a time of visitation two hours prior to the service. She will be laid to rest on Monday November 6, 2017 at 11:00 AM in Riverside Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in Deadria's memory to a child advocacy program of your choice.
