When I finally made the travel team for the Hodgeman girls, Patti was always roaming the courts encouraging her teammates. When I finally played the orange bowl and drew Chris Evert, number 1 seed first round she couldn't stop laughing. But then encouraging me to relax and enjoy. No pressure, just get some points. When I came back with 1 game she had the biggest smile. And then the humor, "I said get some points, not a game!" I will always remember Patti's smile! I have such fond memories of Patti. It was such a treat to be one of Doc Hodgman's girls,playing,practicing & travelling with Patti. She taught me how to play "in between penny poker", then proceeded to take all my pennies! Always laughing,teasing & keeping our spirits up when needed. She was one special lady & I for one,will miss her. Am sorry for your loss. Molly (McGuire) Bergman
