Obituary of Irizona M. Duckworth

Irizona M. (Bland) Duckworth, 99, of Berrien Springs, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 8, 2016.
She was born on February 19, 1917 to the late Saint Elmo and Victoria Phyllis (Curry) Bland in Tilatobe, Mississippi. Irizona was educated at Shilo SDA, Chicago, Oakwood University and obtained her master's degree from Western University; she taught elementary education for many years. She married John R. Duckworth in Chicago, IL; the two of them raised six children.
Irizona is preceded in death by her parents; Saint Elmo and Victoria Bland and her husband John R. Duckworth.
She is survived by her children; Reuben (Gwen) Duckworth, Doris (Robert) Brown, Juanita Molson, Zorita (Alvin) Thomas, Norman K. Duckworth and Sherman Duckworth; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

In keeping with her wishes the family will be remembering her privately.
