Obituary of Jeanne Rice

Jeanne Rice, of Niles, passed away at her home on Sunday, June 19, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. Jeanne was born in Niles, Michigan to the late John and Rosa (Seals) Leonard. On January 16, 1965 Jeanne wed the love of her life, Terry Rice. The two enjoyed 51 amazing years together. Jeanne loved cooking and had a passion for serving others. She was known for feeding anyone that came to her home or taking a meal anytime she went to visit. Jeanne was always found spending time with her grandchildren, they were the apple of her eye, and she loved every minute of it especially if it involved a Detroit Tigers game. She is preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Teresa Hardy; one granddaughter; and two sisters. Jeanne is survived by her husband, Terry; son, John Hardy of Swanton, Ohio and Rick (Jane) Hardy of Niles; two stepsons, Rick (Cynthia) Rice of Woodland Hills, California and Scott Rice of Henderson, Nevada; and four grandchildren. In keeping with Jeanne's wishes her family has held a private gathering and she will be inurned next to her daughter at Mission Hills Memorial Gardens.
