Eugene "Bob" Hitt, 74, of Niles, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, August 10, 2016.
Eugene was born in Benton Harbor, Michigan and raised in Paris, Tennessee. After graduating from high school Eugene went on to continue his education in Printing and Linotyping. While working at the Dowagiac Daily News Eugene met the love of his life, Christine Mark, and the two were wed on February 12, 1966 at Pokagon United Methodist Church. After 31 years in the printing business Eugene retired from Type House Inc.
Eugene is survived by his wife of 50 years, Christine; son, Matthew (Tara) Hitt of Niles; grandchildren, Andre, Gavin and Sebastian Hitt, all of Niles; and brother, Tommy Hitt of California.
In keeping with Eugene's wishes he has been cremated and his family will be remembering him privately.
