Chris, Matt and Tara, and all the boys, I am so so sorry. Always looked forward to seeing Uncle Rob. He could start a story looking you in the eye with such a look of serious intent, but more times than not, it ended up with not a shred of seriousness and that wonderful, infectious laugh. He taught my sisters and I to dribble and shoot a basketball on our grandparent's cinder drive, and I remember him pulling up in that same drive in a succession of shiny new Pontiacs. A very favorite memory, a trip to the U P with Rob and Chris and Grandma and Grandpa Mark. My father was strict about seat belts, so I sat in the cab of Grandpa's truck, while Rob and Grandma Mark rode under the cap in the back, on lawn chairs. We went over a bump and heard a big bang and Grandpa pulled over. There was Grandma on the floor of the truck bed, on top of her flattened lawn chair. Rob was bent over, in tears, hysterical with laughter, and it took a very, very long time before he could stop.

Matt & Chris, I'm so sorry for your loss. Bob was one of my oldest and dearest friends, going all the way back to Type House. He taught me to learn the love of golf. He took my took my first NASCAR race and I've been hooked ever since. It was Bob that I went to Vegas with my very first time. I'm so glad that I stopped in to see him a couple weeks ago. He was a great man. His smile and his laugh will be missed.
