Obituary of John W. Dickeson

John Dickeson, 66, of Niles, passed away at Lakeland Hospital in St. Joseph, on Monday, March 20, 2017. John was born on December 7, 1950, to the late Virgil and Betty (Bucher) Dickeson in Niles, Michigan. After graduating from high school John began dating Linda Weaver. The two enjoyed nearly 50 years together. John was a custodian for the Niles School District for 48 years until his retirement. John lived to be around people; he enjoyed making new friends. He was a collector of John Deere Tractors and was an avid White Sox, Cubs, and Bulls fan. He also enjoyed going to antique malls, McDonald's, and Goodwill. He was liked by everyone that met him and touched many hearts. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Devern Dickeson. John is survived by his wife, Linda Dickeson; sisters, Gertrude (John) Mummaw of Eau Claire, and Yolanda Dickeson of Niles; nieces, Amy Roebeck of Niles and Shirley (Ed) Salvagni of Edwardsburg; great-nephews, Maddux Salvagni and Peyton Pruitt and many extended family members and close friends. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 23, 2017, at Brown Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. with a time of visitation on Wednesday, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
