Obituary of Michael Vogel

Michael Alan Vogel December 2, 1959 - December 2, 2006 Michael A. Vogel, 47, of Third St., Buchanan, MI passed away at his home on Saturday December 2, 2006, after a courageous fight with cancer. Michael was born to Gary and Patricia (Gerow) Vogel in Ann Arbor, MI on December 2, 1959. On October 14, 1978 at a ceremony in Topeka, Kansas he married Tamara Wollpert. Michael, along with his wife, their talents and skills, successfully opened and operated Pizza Transit located on 11th Street in Niles for over 17 years, before his daughter took over. In 2004 Michael received his BA at Indiana University South Bend in History. Michael loved writing and was recently published in Military Heritage Magazine. He was a former member of the Niles Four Flags Area Chamber of Commerce. Preceding Michael in death was his father Gary Vogel. Surviving Michael are his wife, Tamara "Tami" Vogel of Buchanan, his son Jason (Deonna) Vogel of Clarksville, Tennessee, two daughters, Sarah (Nicholas) Brittin of Niles, and Jessica Vogel of Richland, Michigan one sister, Elizabeth Vogel of Williamston, MI and four grandchildren; Aurora and Kendrick "Kenny" Brittin of Niles and Jaiden and Tamara Vogel of Clarksville, Tennessee, and his mother Patricia Vogel of Hesperia, Michigan. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 5, 2006 from 5-8 p.m. at Mission Hills Memorial Chapel with services Wednesday, December 6, 2006 at 1p.m. also at Mission Hills Memorial Chapel located at 61453 M-51 North Niles, MI.
