Obituary of Richard Farrell

Richard Farrell, 74, of Niles, passed away at home on Saturday, May 13, 2017, surrounded by his family. Richard was born on May 21, 1942, to the late Richard and Ethel (Moser) Farrell in Niles, Michigan. He graduated from Niles High School with the class of 1960. He was in the Niles High School Concert and Marching Band. He taught high school science in Eau Claire for two years and went on to graduate from Indiana University. He moved to Hawthorne, California where he went on to become a Respiratory Therapist at Daniel Freeman Hospital where he retired after 20 years. He was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his children, Jerry Farrell of Anaheim, California and Patti (Eddie) Quinones of Conway, Arkansas; five grandchildren; one great-grandson; sisters, Jackie Farrell-Bonebright of Niles, Jo Ann Goodman-Farrell of Clearwater, Florida; special cousin Julie Farrell-Wisner of Niles; longtime friend Fred Avalos of Niles; and many nieces, nephews and extended family members and close friends; and his special dog, Oreo. Funeral services will be held at Brown Funeral Home in Niles on Thursday, May 25, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with a time of visitation one hour prior. Memorial donations may be made in Richard's name to Hospice at Home located at 4025 Health Park Lane, St. Joseph, MI 49085 and American Cancer Society.
