Obituary of Jack Emery

Jack Emery November 22, 1927 January 24, 2008 Jack Emery, 80, of La Porte, Indiana and formerly of Dowagiac, Michigan, passed away on Thursday, January 24, 2008 surrounded by his family, after a lengthy battle with cancer. Jack was born on November 22, 1927 to the late Roskoe and Louie Mae (Holcumb) Emery in Lawrence, Michigan. He was one of 2 children in the Emery household. Jack proudly served his country in the Unite States Army Corp. He was a lover of music and dancing, a talented yodeler and occasionally took to gambling. Jack was also an avid traveler. On November 26, 1981 Jack married the love of his life and his life long friend, Lucille ?Lucy? Smith in Las Vegas, Nevada. He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister Elaine Anderson. Jack is survived by his wife of 26 amazing years, Lucy, Sons David (Cindy) Emery of Golden Valley, Arizona, Hassin (Diane) Abiney of Mission Viejo, California and Patrick (Karen) Abiney of La Porte, Indiana, Daughters Jackie (Mike) Holmes of Dayton, Nevada and Linda Messman of La Porte, Indiana, 12 Grandchildren, 9 Great-Grandchildren and his Sister-In-Law Polly Taylor of La Porte, IN and many special nieces and nephews. A time of visitation will be held on Monday January 28, 2008 from 11-1 pm at the Mission Hills Memorial Chapel on M-51 in Niles with Jack?s funeral following at 1 pm. Jack will be interred at the Mission Hills Memorial Gardens. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mission Hills Memorial Chapel and Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Services, both of Niles, MI.
