Obituary of John Calvin Jones

Please share a memory of John to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
John Calvin Jones entered into eternal rest on Monday May 15, 2017, unexpectedly, after a brief illness. John Calvin Jones was born on November 26, 1962 to the union of Eugene Jim Jones and Clara Ann (Mayo) Jones-Bluitt of Niles, MI. At a young age Calvin confessed his love for Christ and was baptized by Rev. Danzy at Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church in Niles, Michigan where he also sang in the church choir. Calvin was a caring brother, father, and grandfather. Anyone who knew Calvin knew of his kind spirit and loving heart, he became family to everyone he met. He loved to sing and draw. While in school Calvin participated in several sports including basketball, track, and football. He leaves to cherish his memory two children, Darrell "DeDe" Jones and Sabrina (Jones) Griffin (Marcell) both of South Bend; five brothers, Otis Maurice, Aaron Jim, Luke King, Frank Scott, and Thomas Issac Jones; four grandchildren, Deerah and Dekyah Jones and Zamarie and Zahyne Griffin all of South Bend; several uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins who will miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene Jim Jones and Clara Ann Bluitt; maternal grandparents, Aaron and Pearleaner Mayo; paternal grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Frank Jones; brother, Eddie Lee Jones; sister Barbara Jean Jones.
