Linda R. Jansen, 61, of Niles, passed away on Monday, May 19, 2008 at Memorial Hospital in South Bend following a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born on April 21, 1947 in Fond Du Lac, Wisconsin. She was raised by her parents Theodore and Yvonne (Wennersten) Rhudy.
Linda received her Associate Degree in Nursing from Southwest Michigan College. She cared for patients in many local nursing homes and recently retired from Silverbrook Manor. Linda was an avid gardener and enjoyed growing vegetables, plants and flowers. She was also very active working in arts and crafts including oil painting and folk art. Her greatest love was spending time with her family.
Linda married the love of her life, Leonard Jansen, at a ceremony in Chicago, Illinois on September 23, 1967.
She was preceded in death by her father Theodore Rhudy.
Linda is survived by her husband Leonard Jansen of Niles, mother Yvonne Rhudy of Holland, Michigan two sons Kenneth (Kimberly) Jansen of Mishawaka, Indiana and Ronald Jansen of Reidsville, North Carolina, two daughters Lynette Frank of Huntsville, Alabama and Stacy Jansen of Mishawaka, Indiana, eight grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, four brothers and four sisters.
