Douglas Ray Gipson June 18, 1949 August 11, 2008 Douglas Gipson, 59, of Detroit Road in Niles passed away at Lakeland Hospital in Niles on Monday, August 11, 2008. Doug was born on June 18, 1949 to the late Armon and Josie (Grooms) Gipson in Decker, TN. He was one of 12 children raised in the Gipson household. After high school Doug enlisted in the United States Marines where he proudly served his country. He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings Earl Gipson, Evelina Adams, Nancy Jasper, Joyce Jasper, William Gipson and David Gipson. Doug is survived by his son Marty Gipson of St. Louis, MI, Daughter Valerie Gipson of Medesto, CA, 2 grandchildren, siblings Norman (Linda) Gipson of Nashville, TN, Barbara Monroe of Nevada, Frances Burr of Nashville, TN, Armon "PeeWee" Gipson of Niles, MI and Becky (Kenneth) Gross of Niles, MI and several nieces and nephews. A time of visitation will be held on Thursday, August 14, 2008 at 11 am with a memorial service to honor Doug's life to begin at Noon at Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Services. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brown Funeral Home& Cremation Services of Niles.
