Donald "Bob" Robert Taylor September 20, 1925 October 30, 2008 Donald "Bob" Taylor, 83, of Oakdale Avenue in Niles passed away at Lakeland Hospital in Niles on Thursday, October 30, 2008. Bob was born on September 20, 1925 to the late A.P. and Fanny (Poole) Taylor in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Bob graduated from Galien High School in 1943. During World War II Bob proudly served in the United States Army Air Corp. After his discharge he wed the love of his life, Lorraine Nichols at a ceremony on July 6, 1947 in South Bend, Indiana. Together they had 2 wonderful children. Bob worked in retail, until his early 70's, selling Heavy Duty Trucks and automobiles. When he wasn't working he could be found in the upper parts of Michigan spending his time trout fishing. Bob attended Trinity United Methodist Church of Brandwine for many years. He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings Roger and Marsha Taylor. Bob is survived by his wife of 61 years, Lorraine, daughter Nancy Taylor of Lincoln, Nebraska, son James and daughter-in-law Daphne Taylor of Algonquin, Illinois, and 2 precious grandchildren Matthew and Alan Taylor both of Algonquin, Illinois, Sisters Donna Potter of Galien, Michigan and Mary and brother-in-law Armand Schmaltz of Galien, MI. A time of visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 4, 2008 from 6-8 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home in Niles where his service will also be held on Wednesday, November 5, 2008 at 11a.m. with visitation one hour prior. Pastor Carl Harrison of Elkhart will be officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brown funeral Home & Cremation Services of Niles.
