Obituary of Ruth Kennedy

Ruth Kennedy, 78, of Niles passed away on October 30, 2008 at her home with her family by her side. She was born on March 21, 1930 in Roseland, Indiana to the late Rufus and Frances (Corwin) Jones. Ruth married the love of her life David Kennedy on August 14, 1954 at a ceremony in Roseland, Indiana. Ruth was employed at a variety of factories in the Niles area including Bendix and Niles Precision, from where she retired. She enjoyed spending time with her family, playing solitaire, gardening, growing flowers and was always willing to lend a helping hand to someone in need. Ruth is preceded in death by her husband, David Kennedy, a sister Annie Collins and five brothers; Ted Carny, Bill Jones, Arthur Jones, Ben Jones and John Jones. She is survived by one son, David (Marsha) Kennedy Jr. of Niles, a daughter Kathryn (Walter) Gibbons of South Bend, 5 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Monday November 3, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. at Mission Hills Memorial Chapel 61453 M-51, Niles with a time of visitation one hour prior.
