Maralyn J. Lierley, 72, of Niles, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, November 19, 2008, surrounded by her family. She was born on November 2, 1936 in Niles to the late Maynard Stover and Erma (Sheldon) Baird. On March 30, 1956 she married Donald E. Lierley, Sr. at a ceremony in Niles. Maralyn was a bookkeeper for many years at Bookout's Furniture, before her retirement. Her hobbies included bowling, shuffleboard, gardening, traveling up north and spending time with her family. Maralyn faced many obstacles in her lifetime, but was known to be a strong-willed woman. She loved cooking and enjoyed feeding an army of friends and relatives. Maralyn was a lifetime member of the Niles Eagles Auxiliary 2094. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. Maralyn is survived by a daughter Connie (Robert) Cottrill of Niles, a son Donald (Angela) Lierley of Statesville, North Carolina, a sister JoAnne (David) Gordon of Berrien Springs, two cousins Barbara Peel of Las Vegas, Nevada and Jim Stover of Grand Rapids, Michigan, special friends; George and Louise Adams of Niles, Sonny and Darlene Fred of Niles, Deb Dew and the entire Hospice at Home staff.
