Obituary of Shirley Tuttle

Shirley Jeanne Tuttle November 9, 1946 November 28, 2008 Shirley Jeanne Tuttle, 62, of Lake Street in Niles passed away at her home on Friday, November 28, 2008. Shirley was born on November 9, 1946 to Forrest and Helen (Tremaine) Broyles in Gaston, Indiana. She was one of 3 children growing up in the Broyles household. After graduating from high school Shirley wed the love of her life, Charles Tuttle, at a ceremony in Gaston, Indiana on Valentines Day 1976. Shirley loved spending time outdoors but when the weather was bad she could be found inside reading, knitting, quilting, crocheting or making one of her many other crafts for her family. Shirley always wanted better for the world around her and that led to her serving on the Howard Township Board. She served as Howard Township Deputy Clerk for nearly 13 years before serving as the Township Clerk for 4 years from 2004 - 2008. When Shirley wasn't working or crafting she was always spoiling her niece and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father Forrest Broyles and one Niece. Shirley is survived by her husband of 32 years, Charles Tuttle, Mother Helen Broyles of Muncie, IN, Brothers Robert (Mary) Broyles of Muncie, and Don (Diane) Broyles of Muncie, 8 Nephews and 1 Niece. A time of visitation will be held on Monday, December 1, 2008 from 6-8 at Brown Funeral Home in Niles where her funeral will also be held on Tuesday, December 2nd at 11am. Pastor Patty Haas of the Pokagon United Methodist Church will be officiating. Shirley will be interred at Highland Cemetery in South Bend.
