Obituary of Nancy Mangus

Nancy Marie Mangus January 1, 1943 December 18, 2008 Nancy Mangus, 65, of White Street in Niles passed away at Lakeland Hospital in St. Joseph on Thursday, December 18, 2008. Nancy was born on January 1, 1943 to the late Mae E. Linn. She was one of 3 children raised in the Linn household. After high school Nancy wed the love of her life, John E. Mangus at a ceremony in Niles. Together they had 5 children. Nancy and her husband loved to travel by motorcycle and take vacations. They went as far north as the Niagara Falls and as far south as the Carolina's. As active as she was, one of her favorite past times was sitting and watching her grandchildren at their after school activities; be it baseball or a concert she was always proudly sitting in the stands watching her grandchildren. She also regularly had a 'Girls Night Out' with her friends to play cards. She is preceded in death by her mother Mae Messenger and a brother Louis Gibson. Nancy is survived by her husband of 46 years, John, children Nancy (John) Sly of Niles, MI, Roberta (Bruce) Spalding of Buchanan, MI, John Mangus Jr. of Niles, Rich (Becky) Mangus of Niles and Mike (Heather) Mangus of South Bend, IN, 9 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, brother Robert "Bob" (Shirley) Linn of Dowagiac, MI and sister-in-law Becky Gibson of Elkhart, IN. A time of visitation will be held on Monday, December 22, 2008 at Mission Hills Memorial Chapel from 6-8 p.m. where her service will also be held at 11a.m. on Tuesday, December 23, 2008.
