Donald Eugene Jessup, 72, passed away at Riverview Manor Nursing Home following an illness on December 19, 2008.
He was born on April 17, 1936 in Dowagiac, Michigan to the late Kenneth and Marie (Thursby) Jessup.
Donald worked as a welder, for many years at Clark Equipment Company in Benton Harbor. After leaving Clark Equipment Company he worked several years as a truck driver. Donald was very active as a volunteer in the Sister Lake's Fire Department and he was an honorary member of the Dowagiac VFW. He loved being outdoors, hunting and fishing and mostly spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by two sons; John (Sherri) Jessup of Marcellus, Michigan and Jerry Jessup of Foley, Alabama, one daughter Janine Jessup of South Bend, Indiana, four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, one brother Kenny (Pat) Jessup of Dowagiac, Michigan, two sisters; Sharon (Stewart) Hill of Elkhart, Indiana, and Arlene (Tom) Wright of Cassopolis, Michigan.
