Obituary of Larry Daus

NILES - Larry R. Daus, 64, passed away peacefully at home after an illness. Larry was born on November 3, 1944 in Galveston, Texas as the son of Raymond E. and Genevieve B. (Duel) Daus. Larry was preceded in death by his parents and a son Jimmy Hylman in 1990. Larry spent over 22 years with his wife Neva Stacher Daus. Surviving Larry are is wife Neva; children, Angela (Tony) Pennington of Lynn, AL, Melissa Daus of Niles, MI, Lori (David) Williams of Mishawaka, Larry (Debbie) Daus of Niles, MI and Danny Hylman of Mishawaka; 11 grandchildren Shawn and Amanda Echevarria, James Lett, Stephanie and Andrew Daus,, Brenden, Aaron, and Danielle Clifford, Coulton Daus, Nicholas and Shawn Ash; six great granddaughters, Samantha, Alexis, Katelyn, Arrabella, Autumn and Amaya; brothers, Robert (JoAnn) Daus of Niles, MI, Thomas (Sharon) Daus of Niles, MI and Timothy (Diane) Daus of Michigan City, IN and numerous nieces and nephews. Larry worked for Security Couriers for 15 years before his retirement in 2007. He was a lifetime resident of Niles, MI. Larry loved to tell a good joke and loved his family and friends. He was happiest when surrounded by his family and friends. He loved playing with his grandkids and was known to enjoy a "Miller" or two. He enjoyed working on cars and fixing them for others. Just tinkering around made him happy. Family and friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, January 2 in Brown Funeral Home, Niles, MI. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 3 in the funeral home with Rev. Ed Slate of Wesley United Methodist Church, Niles officiating. Hahn Funeral Home, Mishawaka has been entrusted with handling the arrangements. Entombment will be in Mission Hills Memorial Gardens, Summerville, MI.
