June R. Thompson, 91, of Albertville, Minnesota, formerly of South Bend, Indiana, and Battle Creek, Michigan, went to be with her Savior on Sunday, January 11, 2009, surrounded by her family, following a brief illness. She was born on July 16, 1917 in Hudson, Indiana to the late Ford and Madonna (Zimmerman) Lower and moved to Battle Creek with her family to begin a ministry at the age of 16. On August 27, 1938 June married O'Neal Thompson at a ceremony in Mishawaka, Indiana. A homemaker most of her life, June also worked a short time for Kellogg Company, where she was a cereal packer. She was a former member of Apostolic Temple Church in South Bend, Indiana. She was currently a member of Calvary United Pentecostal Church in Bloomington, Minnesota. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a daughter Brenda Brown, a son Timothy Thompson, five brothers; Dale, John, Joseph , Jonathan and Nathan Lower and a great-great granddaughter Raina Garcia. June is survived by two daughters Sharon (Clay) Gratz of Crystal River, Florida and Roxann (Michael) Petro of Albertville, Minnesota, a son Bob Thompson of Osceola, Indiana, son-in-law James Brown of Battle Creek, Michigan, daughter-in-law Susan Thompson of Battle Creek, Michigan, ten grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, a sister Violet Beatty of Battle Creek and three sisters-in law Arleen Lower, Elaine Lower and Alice Thompson of Battle Creek, Michigan. A time of visitation will be held on Friday, January 16, 2009 at Brown Funeral Home, Niles, Michigan from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 17, at Faith Baptist Church, 13840 S. Helmer Road, Battle Creek at 12:00 p.m. with visitation two hours prior. An interment will follow at Reese Cemetery in Springfield, Michigan. A memorial service will be held at Calvary United Pentecostal Church,8800 Nicollet Ave, Bloomington, Minnesota on Monday, January 19th at 7pm.
