Obituary of Evelyn Bloyd

Evelyn W. Bloyd, 87, of Niles, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her daughter and family on Saturday, March 7, 2009 at Lakeland Community Hospital in Niles. She was born on August, 2, 1921 in Holyoke, Massachusetts to the late Charles and Hazel (Shaw) Bedell. On March 28, 1942 Evelyn married the love of her life Forrest E. Bloyd at a ceremony in Holyoke, Massachusetts. Evelyn enjoyed being a homemaker and raising her three children. She also loved spending time outdoors camping, fishing and watching squirrels. In her later years she also kept her mind sharp by playing cards, reading and completing crossword puzzles. Evelyn was a former member of the Niles TOPS and an active member and volunteer at the Niles Senior Center. She was a faithful member of First Church of God, Niles. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband and all of her brothers and sisters. Evelyn is survived by a son James (Joy) Bloyd of Seattle, Washington, two daughters Karen (Art) Tilbury of Niles and Bobbye Foster of Canton, Georgia and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. In keeping with Evelyn's wishes, a private entombment will be held at Mission Hills Memorial Gardens.
