I just put your ashes in front of my couch and put your Packers hat on top. I wanted you and Joe to be able to enjoy the game together and talk about who is the better team, just like you would normally do... Packers and Bears.. Enjoy the game, dad! I miss you! I love you!

Hey Van, "Yes, this would be your sister." I can hear you asking me , "Would this be my sister?", as you did each night you called me or each time I called you, I'd say, "Hey Brother." We talked for hours each time, laughing, loving and remembering the past, and singing the Kid Rock songs, and the 'git 'er done, and the 'you can't fix stupid', and 'here's your sign.' How we loved our talks!
And how we would always say, "I love you" and "bye" and "thanks for calling" early in the conversation just in cause our phone batteries gave out and we didn't have a chance to say it at the end of our 3-hour long talks! We are now communicating a bit different, aren't we? And, we both know what were saying. Call me tomorrow. I will talk to you later brother. I love you very much.

I am still having a rough time.. Daddy I can't stop thinking about you EVERYDAY! I started back to school yesterday because I know that's what you would want me to do.. but it was SO hard to concentrate between the thoughts and the tears. I miss you so much! I have had such a hard time with all of this. Sometimes I think "oh he's just still in te hospital, he'll be home next week." And then reality sets in. My dad was the strongest man alive. He could always fix everyones problems, but his own. Although he's not here I know in my heart he will always be with us. I know when I need him all I have to do is look up above and talk to him. He will always be here for me. Whenever I need him, he loves drama so anytime there's an issue I know he'll be standing right beside me ready to help out. I love you daddy and I know everything is ok now. I will miss you!

Vance was one of my closest and dearest friends. We had many good times together. We stayed close even though we lived 600 miles apart and spent thousands of hours on the phone over the years. When Vance first moved back to Arkansas we were young men who came to depend on each other thru thick and thin. Wendy and Rebecca were like daughters to us as we watched them grow into adults. We love them very much. I am sad to lose my friend but Vance will always be with us in our hearts and minds. He tried to live life to the fullest and touched many people's lives. I know he touched mine more than anyone will know. I will miss my friend very much. I love you buddy.
