Lewis F. Roebeck, 82, of Niles passed away on Thursday, June 25, 2009 at Lakeland Community Hospital in Niles. Lewis was born to the late Frederick and Hulda (Reum) Roebeck on October 20, 1926 in Niles, Michigan. He and Betty Jane Dickeson fell in love in 1969 and the two were inseparable until her passing in 1988. Lewis was a hard working dairy farmer throughout his life. He also worked for many years at Goshen Tree Service. He enjoyed his vegetable garden, growing flowers and cutting his own firewood. He also took many trips including Mackinaw Island and Virginia Beach. He mostly loved his time spent with family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, the love of his life Betty Jane and a brother Merrill Roebeck. He is survived by his three step-children, Yolanda Dickeson of Niles, John Dickeson of Niles and Gertrude Roebeck of Niles, whom in later life married Lewis' brother Merrill, two granddaughters Shirley (Edward) Salvagni of Niles and Amy Roebeck of Niles, a great-grandson Peyton Pruitt of Niles, a brother Harry Roebeck of Niles, two sisters Shirley (Hank) Kujawa of Niles and Louise Fletcher of Niles.
