Helen V. (Lunn) Hurlbutt September 10, 1921 November 3, 2009 Helen V. Hurlbutt, 88, of Niles, passed away at the home of her son Phillip on Tuesday, November 3, 2009, surrounded by her family, following an extended illness. She was born on September 10, 1921 in Long Beach, California to the late Ralph H. and Flora (Bickus) Lunn. On February 9, 1944 Helen married the love of her life, Ray Hurlbutt Jr. at a ceremony at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Niles. A homemaker most of her life, Helen enjoyed sewing, cooking and crocheting. She mostly loved spending time with her family. She was a faithful member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ray and two brothers William and Gerald Lunn. Helen is survived by her three sons; Ryan (Diane) Hurlbutt of Niles, Phillip Hurlbutt (Mark Ramer) of Cassopolis and Gregory (Karla) Hurlbutt of Niles, three daughters Theresa (Ron) Redman of Lawrenceville, Georgia, Sandra (Jim) Booth of Keizer, Oregon and Colleen (Greg) Hunt of Mayville, Wisconsin, eleven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and two sisters Betty (Irv) Stone of Sun City West, Arizona and Normie Fortuna of Leland, North Carolina. A time of visitation will be held on Sunday, November 8, 2009 at Brown Funeral Home from 2:00-4:00p.m. and 6:00-8:00p.m. A rosary given at the funeral home at 6:30p.m on Sunday by Deacon Roger Gregorski. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church on Monday with Father William Melody, CSC officiating. An interment will be held at Mission Hills Memorial Gardens.
