Neva E. Daus, 73, passed away peacefully and surrounded by her loving family in her home on Friday November 13, after a three year battle with Parkinson's disease. Neva was born on June 7, 1936 in Marshall County, IN to Delbert and Gale (White) Kinney. Neva was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Larry R. Daus on December 30, 2008 and her son, Jimmy Hylman on May 28, 1990. Neva spent over 22 years with her late husband Larry. She is survived by her daughter, Lori (Dave) Williams of Mishawaka; sons, Danny Hylman of Mishawaka and Larry (Debbie) Daus of Niles, MI; 11 grandchildren, Nicholas and Shawn Ash, James Lett, Stephanie and Andrew Daus, Shawn and Amanda Echevarria, Brenden, Aaron and Danielle Clifford and Coulton Daus; six great granddaughters, twins, Alexis and Katelyn, Arrabella, Autumn, Amaya and Samantha; five brothers, Neva's twin, Nelson (Dorothy) of Clearwater, FL, Jack (late, Dorothy) Kinney of Minong, WI, Jerry (Sophie) Kinney of South Bend, Fred (Jean) Kinney of Christiana, TN, Jimmy (Sharry) Kinney of Walkerton, IN and two sisters, Doris (Larry) Berger of Dewey, AZ and Jimmy's twin Jean (John) of Hurst, TX; brothers-in-law, Robert (JoAnn) Daus and Thomas (Sharon) Daus both of Niles, MI and Timothy (Diane) Daus of Michigan City, IN. She is also survived by many nieces' and nephews, including a special niece Cindy (George) Sikora of New Carlisle, IN. Neva graduated from Tyner IN High School in 1954. In the early 1970's, through the encouragement and generosity of her "Big Brother" Jerry, she entered and graduated from nursing school. She primarily practiced handicapped and geriatric nursing for over 30 years, retiring in 2005 from Brentwood Assisted living of Niles. Mom enjoyed traveling and loved Southern Gospel music. Her favorites were the Cumberland Quartet and the Gaithers, listening to their music gave her countless hours of joy and happiness. Mom enjoyed her coffee and a good mystery novel. She was loving to and loved greatly by all. Family and friends may visit in Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka from 4 to 7 p.m., on Wednesday, November 18. The funeral service will be on Thursday, November 19 at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home with Reverend Slate of Wesley United Methodist Church, Niles, MI. Private Entombment will follow in the Mausoleum at Mission Hills Memorial Gardens, Sumnerville, MI. The family wishes to thank Dr. Arthur Wang and Dr. John Galea and their staffs for their kindness.
