Uncle Merv always said to me, "Annie, go get your gun!" when he saw me. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family. Love, Annette (Trubey) Moon

We will miss Mervin's cheerful smile and encouraging words. Mervin was a wonderful Christian friend to our father, Merle Conard, and they shared many happy hours together as residents of Lakeland Continuing Care. He loved Jesus Christ and desired above all else to follow in Christ's footsteps. We often found Mervin and Dad engaged in a good discussion about spiritual things or talking about the "good old days" or John Deere tractors. They were an encouragement to one another—and both of them liked to talk! Sometimes they were so busy talking, we could hardly get a word in edgewise! Mervin was a sweet and kind witness to everyone he knew. He enjoyed going places with us and was always ready when we got there to pick him up. We had fun with him enjoying a big antique tractor show in South Haven, picnics at our place, riding around our gardens and woods on the golf cart, and going to the "Lest We Forget" Concert in honor of all US Veterans. On our way home from these outings, Mervin was all smiles when we stopped at the Dairy Queen for ice cream. We are deeply honored that Mervin could spend Thanksgiving Day with us and we made sure Choplets (which he loved!) were on the menu! He was happy and loved being with Christian friends and watching the little children play. Our hearts feel the deep loss for his beloved family, yet we rejoice that you will be with him again, for his eternal life is safe in the arms of Jesus.

Tim and I are so sorry for your loss. We were honored to know Merv through James. I know he'll be greatly missed but I know, too, that soon Jesus will come and reunite all of us with those we've lost. I pray that will be of comfort to you during this time.

We will miss his warmth and smiles but God gains when a godly person, his kind, dies.
I am reminded of the verse in Revelation where John says "blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on"[Rev. 14:13].
