Obituary of Thomas Passmore

Thomas J. Passmore Sr., 81, of Niles, passed away on Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at Riveridge Manor, following an illness. He was born on November 20, 1928 in Marshall, Arkansas to the late Leamon and Nora (George) Passmore. In 1948 Thomas married the late Mary Lovell at a ceremony in Lake City, Arkansas. As a young man Thomas worked as a cotton Farmer in Arkansas. Thomas retired from both Clark Equipment Company and AM General. Thomas enjoyed listening to country music and was an avid Chicago White Sox fan. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church of Niles. Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Mary (Lovell) Passmore, a brother Bob Passmore and a sister Betty Jones. He is survived by two sons; Thomas Passmore Jr. of Niles and Ron (Marybeth) Passmore of Whitehall, Arkansas, a daughter Janice (Joseph) Hren of Niles, four Grandchildren; Joshua and Jeremy Hren of Elkhart, Indiana, Will and Mary Passmore of Whitehall, Arkansas, two step-grandchildren Robert Hren of White Pigeon, Michigan and Reginald (Tere) Hren of Las Vegas, Nevada, three step great-grandchildren, a brother William (Betty) Passmore of Arkansas, four sisters; Peggy(Charles) Eich of St. Louis, Missouri, Juanita Satterfield of Leslie, Arkansas, Norma lee Elrod of Bay, Arkansas and Sue Lewis of Hoxie, Arkansas and a host of nieces and nephews. A time of visitation will be held on Thursday, January 14, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home in Niles. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 15, 2010 at 1:00 pm at Brown Funeral Home, Niles with Rev. R. Allen Poage officiating. An interment will follow at Mission Hills Memorial Gardens. Memorial donations may be made in Thomas's memory to the American Cancer Society.
