John E. True, 55, of Niles, passed away at his residence on Thursday, January 21, 2010 following an extended illness. He was born on February 14, 1954 in Niles to Ralph and Nina (Parker) True. John graduated from Niles High School and served his country in the U.S. Army. He most recently was a bus driver for Niles Public Schools. He was also past Pokagon Township Supervisor. John loved being outdoors, especially fishing and hunting. On September 3, 2006 John married Ginger (Wade) Bice at a ceremony in St. Joseph, Michigan. He was preceded in death by his father Ralph True. John is survived by his wife Ginger Bice of Niles, his son Cordel Lee Bice-True of Niles, his mother Nina True of Niles, two brothers Jim True of Dowagiac and Tom True of Westville, Indiana, five sisters; Barbara True (Larry Teeter) of Cassopolis, Debbie (Rick) Phillips of Cassopolis, Becky (Shawn) Burton of White Heath, Illinois, Kathy (Craig) Bradley of Constantine, Michigan and Toni (Jeff) Crowel of Niles a host of nieces and nephews. In keeping with John's wishes a graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 22, 2010 at Mission Hills Memorial Gardens with Rev. Mike Cheney officiating. A friends and family gathering will be held at Pokagon Fire Department at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 23rd.
