Obituary of Beverly Ann True

Beverly Ann (Hand) True, 81, of Niles, passed away on Monday, March 8, 2010 at Lakeland Community Hospital, following an illness. She was born on November 1, 1928 in South Bend, Indiana to the late Amos and Lucille (Myers) Hand. Beverly graduated from Niles High School. In 1954 she married Darwin True who passed away in 1987. A homemaker most of her life, Beverly also worked as a teachers assistant and was an attendant at Gene's Poly Clean. She enjoyed reading and collected stuffed animals and Native American Indian memorabilia. Beverly was also a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Niles. Beverly loved spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents and husband. Beverly is survived by one son Ted (Sheila) True of Niles, three daughters; Peg (Wayne) Shafer of Eau Claire, Pat (Gary) Schrader of Niles and Nancy Williston (Scott Harman) of South Bend, Indiana, eight grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. In keeping with Beverly's wishes, cremation has taken place and family and friends will gather on Saturday, March 13, 2010 to share memories and refreshments at Kozy Kitchen located at 1100 N. Front Street in Niles from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Memorial contribution may be made in Beverly's memory to the Alzheimer's Association 2300 Portage Street Suite 341 Kalamazoo, Michigan 49001.
