Obituary of Paul Edwin Goddard

Paul Edwin Goddard, 84, of Niles passed away on Monday, March 22, 2010 at his residence with his family by his side. Paul was born on September 18, 1925 in Chicago, Illinois to the late E. George and Valborg (Lillegard) Goddard. Paul married the love of his life Lulu (Cecrle) Goddard on April 15, 1955 at a ceremony in South Bend. He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister Claire Stephens. Paul is survived by his wife Lu of 54 years, three sons; Kenneth (Alma) Goddard of Telolopan, Mexico, Martin (Kay) Goddard of Florence, Montana, James (Carolyn) Goddard of Elkhart, Indiana, one daughter, Jean (Jeff) Jonas of Niles, Michigan, eleven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and a sister Virginia (Norman) Snow of Florida. Paul served his country during World War II as an active member of the United States Army. He retired from Tyler's Refrigeration after 22 years as a technical writer. He was a landlord of Charter members of Southwestern Michigan Landlords Association. Paul enjoyed spending time on the computer and had a great love for German Sheppard's. A time of visitation will be held on Friday, March 26 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Brown Funeral Home, 521 E. Main Street Niles, Michigan. Services will be held on Saturday at the funeral home at 10:30 am. Joe Chikar, a family friend will be officiating the service. The interment will be at Mission Hills Memorial Gardens.
