Obituary of Josephine P. Quick

Josephine Quick, 85, of Berrien Springs passed away at Lakeland Specialty Hospital in Berrien Center on Monday, May 3, 2010 after a lengthy illness. Josephine "Jo" was born on March 23, 1925 to the late Joseph and Anna (Svickle) Litty in Niles, Michigan. Jo was the eleventh of thirteen children in the Litty household. On October 25, 1958 Jo wed the love of her life, Garold Quick, at a ceremony in Mattawan, Michigan. In her younger years Jo attended Bertrand Bible Church. On October 7, 1984 she joined the First Presbyterian Church in Niles and has been a member ever since. Jo worked at Michigan Wire Goods, Kawneer, National Standard and Tyler Refrigeration. She retired from Tyler's after 32 years of dedicated service. When Jo wasn't working she loved to work in the yard, work on her garden and take care of her flowers, bowl when she was able, fish, play ball games with the children and riding bicycles with her grandchildren. To say Jo will be missed by many is an understatement. She is preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, four sisters and one great-grandson. Jo is survived by her husband Garold, sisters Anna Montz of Niles, Michigan, Victoria Litty of Niles, Michigan, brother Fred Litty of Niles, Michigan, step daughter Patricia (Darwin) Kipker of Niles, Michigan, step son Jerry (Jacki) Quick of Spring Hill, Tennessee, her pride and joy, her grandchildren Chrissie (Terry) Crisp of Nashville, Tennessee, Deborah (Terry) Stough of Niles, Michigan, Alex (Geanie) Quick of San Diego, California, great grandchildren Jessica, Mathew, Chase, Adam and Hunter and several loved nieces and nephews.
