For Tammy, Barb, Bruce and Tom-I was truely sorry to hear about your loss. I have many fond childhood memories of spending time with your family in the brick house on front street. The slumber parties where we "camped out" in the back yard and the times we went for a swim at the club still bring a smile to my face. Smitty was always a loving husband, good father and a kind and gentle soul who will be greatly missed. my prayers and good thoughts are with you at this time. Karen Kay-Peters

?Smitty will be missed by all of us. He was a great friend and always had a happy face. We had many good laughs on the annual canoe trips to the Pine and Pere Marquette - still don't recall the sequence of DS #1, 2 and 3. Also remember many other fun party gatherings. Doyle's memories of La-Roy in our Marenisco deer camp are endless. "Daylight in the swamp" will always ring in our ears. Our deepest sympathy to you Barb and all your family. Love, Doyle and Judy

The world lost a good man when LeRoy passed away last Wednesday. LeRoy "The King" as we knew him at the Wolverine Hunting Camp in Northland, MI (In Da U.P.) He always had a good story to share, a great joke to tell and money to leave at the poker table at camp. (But- DON"T TELL BARB!) The King has died, but he will be with us in a different way now and never be forgotten at the camp. When heaven's gate opened last Wednesday to welcome LeRoy. I am sure it was a true celebration. For all the Kings that past away before LeRoy. MOVE OVER - THERE IS A NEW KING IN TOWN NOW!!!!!! God Bless you LeRoy.
From the Boys at Camp.

Smitty was a beloved friend of my parents and always had a warm hug and a kiss for me. I will never forget the great times with him and Barbara! He brightened every room he entered with that beautiful twinkle in his eye and friendly grin. I'll always be grateful for the joy and love he shared with my father and our family. We love you Smit! - Megan (Fairman) DeRiso

Of course my most memorable (though not favorite!) story about Smitty is the day I shocked him speechless with two little words. Just two. But the first had four-letters. And the second was "you!" (or "off!"-- hard to remember after all these years). I wasn't serious, but still I'm not sure he ever got over it. I'm glad I got the chance a year or so ago to apologize. I hope he knew how much I liked him and his whole lovely family. God bless Smitty, and God bless you all. And Barb, I love you. I SO hope you'll be O.K. and would love to see you one of these days. xoxoxoxo Elaine
