Obituary of Judy Curran

Judy A. Curran, 74, of Niles, passed away at Indiana University Hospital in Indianapolis on Friday, June 16, 2017. Judy was born on December 12, 1942, to Frances (Alford) Colen in Indianapolis, Indiana. After graduating from Niles High School, Judy wed Norman Curran at a ceremony in Niles on April 25, 1964. The two had three sons. While the boys were young Judy got a job working as a lunch lady. This afforded her the time to work while her children were in school and be home with them when they got out. Her main focus in life was raising her boys. After some time she became a bus driver and drove until her eventual retirement from Niles Community Schools. She thoroughly enjoyed her work as a bus driver. She attended every sporting event and was often the loudest parent in the stands. Judy also took pride in taking care of her home. She raised three boys in it and always managed to keep it looking nice and her rose bushes were always perfect. She was preceded in death by her mom, Frances; and her husband, Norman. Judy is survived by her children, Tye (Jodi) Curran of Niles, Todd (Debbie) Curran of Niles, and Timothy (Elizabeth) Curran of Vandalia; two grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; sisters, Diane (David) McGregor of Lebanon, Indiana and Patricia (Rick) Dickerson of Orlando, Florida; and numerous extended family and friends. A time of visitation will be held at Mission Hills Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, June 20, 2017, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will follow on Wednesday, June 21, 2017, at 11:00 a.m.
