Obituary of Betty Jane Bland

Betty Jane Bland, 61, of Coloma, Michigan passed away at Country Side Nursing Home on Tuesday, June 15, 2010. Betty was born on October 6, 1948 to the late Arthur and Alberta (Ludwig) Bland in Benton Harbor, Michigan, she was one of three children in the Bland household. Betty graduated from Benton Harbor High School in 1966. After graduating she went to work for the State of Michigan Family Independence Agency in Niles as a Communications Clerk. Betty retired from FIA in 1998 after 30 years of dedicated service. Betty was a lifelong member of the Twelve Corners Community Church in Twelve Corners, Michigan. She enjoyed shopping, collecting Hummnl Figurines and working puzzles. She is preceded in death by her parents. Betty is survived by her sisters Nancy (Bill) Scoggins of New Smyrna Beach, Florida, Sally (John) Ratz, of Coloma, nephews William Scoggins, Arthur Coburn, Michael (Nancy) Zabel, great nephew Foster Zabel and great niece Mackenzie Zabel. Funeral services to honor Betty's life will be held on Monday, June 21, 2010 at North Shore Memory Gardens in Coloma at 11 a.m. Those wishing to make memorial donations may do so in Betty's name to the Twelve Corners Community Church.
