William "Bill" Russell Harker, 82, of Niles, passed away at Lakeland Specialty Hospital late on June 25, 2010. Bill was born on June 26, 1927 to the late Samuel and Nora (Dell) Harker. He was one of 7 children in the Harker household. After school Bill proudly served his country in the United States Navy. After returning he worked at Grathwohl Plumbing for many years before going to National Standard. Bill retired from National Standard with more than 20 years of service. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Jack, Guy, Bob, Don and Dick Harker and sister Dorothy Harker. Bill is survived by his loving daughter Nanette (Jake) Countess of Niles, grandchildren Cathie (Tracy) Waggoner, Todd (Andrea) Countess, both of Niles, great grandchildren Mason Waggoner, Mehgan Waggoner and Addison Countess, all of Niles, stepsons Allen Balog of Three Rivers, Michigan, Steve Balog of Goshen, Indiana, Jerry Balog of Three Rivers and his faithful dog Rube. In keeping with Bill's wishes his family will hold a private service to remember him where he wanted to be remembered. Those wishing to make memorial donations may make them in Bill's name to the American Heart Association.
