Obituary of Eric Michael Wilson

Eric Wilson, 58, of South Bend, passed away at Memorial Hospital on Saturday, July 10, 2010 after a short but courageous battle with esophageal cancer. Eric was born on Friday, December 14, 1951 to Carl and Eunice (Wesley) Wilson in Chicago, Illinois. Eric was one of 11 children in the Wilson household. Eric graduated from DuSable High School in 1969. On October 31, 2009 Eric was diagnosed with Stage 4 Esophageal Cancer. From the day he found out he had cancer Eric's main priority was taking care of his children and wife. Eric loved his work at Modern Molding in South Bend, especially working the fork lift. When he wasn't working or taking care of his family Eric loved spending time outdoors fishing. He is preceded in death by his mother Eunice McClinton and brothers Steven Wilson and Shawn McClinton. Eric is survived by his loving wife Virginia, children Ericka M. Jackson, Tina Wilson, Erick Wilson II, Erica M. Wilson, Gabriel M. Wilson, Jacob D. Wilson, two grandchildren and one on the way and siblings Carl Wilson Jr. of San Jacinto, California, John Wilson of St. Joseph, Michigan, Herbert (Margaret) Wilson of Chicago, Illinois, Phyllis Stallworth of Chicago, Illinois, Karen Coles of Chicago, Illinois, Linda Montgomery of Chicago, Illinois, Ronald (Dawn) Wilson of Chicago, Illinois and Anita (Charles) VanEllis of Chicago, Illinois. A time of visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 14, 2010 from 6-8 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home in Niles where his funeral will be held on Thursday, July 15, 2010 at 11 a.m. Those wishing to make memorial donations may do so in Eric's memory to the Police Federal Credit Union in South Bend where an account has been set up for his 3 young children.
